Suicide Is Painless by SHT Music When I started playing guitar I wanted to learn to play all my favorite songs. I almost never went to the recording as a reference. I liked to take the chords and lyrics and make my own version of the song instead of trying to copy the original. So growing up in the 80s MASH (American sitcom about Korean War doctors) was on 2 or 3 times (literally) Monday through Friday. The show´s theme song is embedded in my brain forever but I never knew the lyrics to the song. Fast forward 20 years or so and after discovering the incredibly dark lyrics of the original song (the TV theme song was instrumental) I decided that I would take a swing at doing a cover of the song with a video. I found this cool Middle Eastern video for this same song which I shamelessly stole and was pleasantly surprised by how well both the song and the video turned out.
