Suicide Is Painless and other covers

Suicide Is Painless  by SHT Music
When I started playing guitar I wanted to learn to play all my favorite songs.   I almost never went to the recording as a reference.    I liked to take the chords and lyrics and make my own version of the song instead of trying to copy the original.  So growing up in the 80s MASH (American sitcom about Korean War doctors)  was on 2 or 3 times (literally) Monday through Friday.   The show´s theme song is embedded in my brain forever but I never knew the lyrics to the song.    Fast forward 20 years or so and after discovering the incredibly dark lyrics of the original song (the TV theme song was instrumental)  I decided that I would take a swing at doing a cover of the song with a video.  I found this cool Middle Eastern video for this same song which I shamelessly stole and was pleasantly surprised by how well both the song and the video turned out.  But don´t take my word for it, check it out yourself.    I have also included below several other covers that you might have missed.

Panic by Kitten
I love and miss The Smiths.    Like The Police, you have to wonder how many more great songs they could have put out if they had stayed together.    I especially like the beginning of Kitten´s version of this song.

Seven Nation Army by Jess Greenberg
This video totally looks like clickbait but this girl can actually sing and play very well and I love this song.    In this case all the cleavage "stickin´ in the camera" probably gets as many negative reactions as positive ones.   I find it a bit distracting but am able to tough it out.

Jambalaya by Reina del Cid
Jambalaya always makes me think of my Uncle Joe coming over with his guitar and singing to a captive (literally) audience.    These young ladies are posting tons of nice cover songs.  I want them to do one of my songs!
